We repair running, weak-flushing, leaking, rocking and chronically clogged toilets, and install new ones when repair no longer makes sense. You get a straight call on which it is, then a fixed price before we start.
Toilet problems we fix
- Water running or the tank refilling on its own every few minutes
- A weak or incomplete flush that needs two tries
- Clogs that keep returning when the drain line itself looks clear
- Water around the base, a soft floor or a stain on the ceiling below
- A toilet that rocks or shifts when you sit
- A tank that sweats heavily or drips from the supply connection
- Handle that sticks, sags or needs holding to flush
- A hissing sound after the tank fills
What's included
Every toilet repair & installation job in El Dorado Hills covers the essentials below — no vague scopes, no surprise add-ons:
- Diagnosis of the tank, flapper, fill valve, handle, supply line and wax ring
- Repair with parts matched to your toilet model
- New shutoff valve and supply line when the old ones are corroded or seized
- Full installation of a new toilet, including removal and haul-away of the old one
- Flange and subfloor inspection before we set a new seal
- Leveling, bolt-down and caulking where appropriate
- Repeated flush and leak tests before we leave
How we handle a toilet call
- 1
Diagnose the fixture
We check the tank trim, supply line, base seal and the drain behind it to separate a cheap part failure from a bigger leak.
- 2
Quote repair vs. replace
You get both numbers and a straight recommendation based on the toilet's age, condition and parts availability.
- 3
Repair with correct parts
We replace the flapper, fill valve, handle, supply line or wax ring with parts sized to your model, not universal guesses.
- 4
Or install the new unit
We pull the old toilet, inspect the flange and subfloor, set the new bowl on a fresh seal, level it and bolt it down evenly.
- 5
Test and clean up
We flush repeatedly, check every joint for seepage and haul away the old toilet if we replaced it.
Repair or replace — where we draw the line
A running toilet, a loose handle and a weak flush are almost always repairs. We replace the part, the toilet keeps working and you've spent a fraction of a new unit. Replace becomes the better call when the bowl or tank is cracked, the porcelain is stained through, the toilet is a high-water-use older model or it keeps clogging because of the bowl design.
Age alone doesn't condemn a toilet. A thirty-year-old two-piece with a sound bowl and a fresh fill valve can outlast a bargain replacement. We'll tell you if that's the case.
If the tank is cracked or the bowl is leaking through the porcelain, no part fixes it. That's a replacement, and we can usually have it swapped the same visit if you've picked a model or want us to recommend one.
Why toilets fail here
EID's moderately hard water leaves mineral scale on fill valves, flappers and the rim jets under the bowl lip. Scale makes the flapper stop sealing, which is the running toilet, and clogs the jets, which weakens the flush.
In slab-on-grade homes, a toilet that rocks or weeps at the base often points to a failed wax ring or a flange that has settled with the clay soil, not just a loose bolt. We check the flange height and condition because a new seal on a damaged flange will leak again.
Choosing a replacement toilet
The bowl shape and flush design matter more than the brand. Elongated bowls are more comfortable, round bowls fit tight spaces, and comfort-height models are easier on knees. A gravity-flush toilet is simple and cheap to maintain, while pressure-assist is louder and more powerful but harder to repair.
We look at your rough-in — the distance from the wall to the flange center — before you buy. A toilet that doesn't match the rough-in won't sit right, and returning a bowl is a hassle we can avoid.
Clogged toilets that keep coming back
One clog is a toilet problem. Repeated clogs in a toilet that flushes fine otherwise often come from the drain behind it: a belly, roots or buildup in the line. If a toilet clogs while the tub and sinks are also slow, the shared drain is the issue.
We clear the toilet first, then check the line if the history suggests a drain cause. That can mean cabling the line or sending a camera down to see what a plunger never will. Replacing a toilet to fix a drain problem is the wrong fix, and we won't sell it.
What affects the price
We use upfront, flat-rate pricing and give you the number before we start — no fake fixed quotes online, because the honest answer depends on your home. For toilet repair & installation in El Dorado Hills, the main factors are:
- Whether the fix is a small internal part or a full toilet replacement
- Toilet type — standard two-piece, one-piece, comfort height or wall-hung
- Condition of the flange and subfloor once the old toilet is pulled
- Whether you're supplying the new toilet or we're sourcing it
- Shutoff valve and supply line condition (often replaced during the job)
- Access and floor layout, such as an upstairs bathroom or tight alcove
